Overview


The Parks Division serves the community by providing recreational resources.

Responsibilities & Services


The Parks Division must maintain:
  • All park facilities and trails
  • Portable and stationary picnic tables and benches
  • Fireplaces, fire pits, and barbecues
  • Playground areas, including slides, swings,
    merry-go-rounds, and more
  • Over 29 acres of ball fields 
  • Shelter buildings with hot and cold water
  • Two horseshoe pits
  • Restroom facilities
  • Open play areas
  • Numerous shrub beds and flower gardens
Staff also completes:
  • Painting the facilities
  • Mowing, weeding, planting, and edging
  • Watering, fertilizing, and spraying

Service Projects


The Parks Division is fortunate to have volunteers work in the numerous parks in Dallas throughout the season. If you are interested in volunteering or performing a service projects please contact the Parks Department at 503.831.3571.

Volunteer Opportunities


The Parks Division is always interested in providing volunteer opportunities. We have sponsored projects from various individuals and organized groups and civic clubs.
