Boards, Commissions & Committees

The City's various boards, commissions, and committees assist in the governance of the community and Dallas residents are encouraged to participate. Serving on a board, commission or committee is a rewarding way for you to engage with the community. Most are advisory to City Council while others provide expertise or review policies. The Mayor recommends and the City Council appoints all board, commission and committee members.

The City of Dallas currently has the following current or upcoming vacancies:

  • Dallas Budget Committee (4)
  • Dallas Planning Commission (2)
  • Dallas Parks Advisory Board (1)
If you are interested in serving on any of these boards, please complete a Citizen Committee Interest Form and your application will be considered by the Mayor for appointment with consent from the City Council.  For more information, call 503.831.3502.
