The City of Dallas employees take our position in the community very seriously.  Every day we give 110% to everything we do and look for ways we can give back to the community we love. This will be the second year we hold a canned food drive in conjunction with a Sounds of Summer concert. We also collect food during our holiday events. Each year, Dallas employees adopt at least one family for the Community Holiday Project, collecting food and presents for a family (or families) in need. Also each holiday, City employees donate our time and money to hold a Community Holiday Dinner. We provide a delicious ham dinner to less fortunate families during the holiday season. Last year, several employees also provided music to entertain our guests while they waited for their meal.

Community Service Recognition
The City of Dallas was awarded the 2009 Public Sector Campaign of the Year award at the United Way Community Celebration. City employees donated over $4,210 to the United Way for 2010, through payroll deductions and fundraisers, including a bake sale and chili cook-off.
