Old Side Gazebo, Dallas City Park
Dallas City Park, the largest park in town (35 acres), plays host to large community events and is a great place to hold gatherings and birthday parties. For convenience and comfort at these events, the park features two fireplaces, several sinks, one kitchen, about 100 picnic tables, numerous BBQ pits, two sets of restrooms, and two shelters. In addition, the park possesses many facilities for family fun, including seven horseshoe pits, five basketball hoops, two playground areas, a disc golf course and a creek with a swimming hole. The park is also an excellent place for exercise and relaxation, as it is home to paved trails, an expansive arboretum, and a Japanese Garden.

The Dallas City Park officially opens on Memorial Day and closes Labor Day, but some activity goes on year-round. Over 50,000 people use the Dallas City Park and its picnic facilities each year. The Dallas City Park offers a seasonal reservation system from May 1 through September 30th.

Please note that the water is shut off and restrooms are closed from the end of October until the first part of April each year. There is a portable restroom available during this time on the Academy Street side of the park.  Also, during the summer months, the restrooms will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A portable restroom will be available after-hours.
